Biography
Professor Alyson Meister is a scholar, author, speaker and professor of Leadership and Organizational Behavior at IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland. She supports organisations to develop inclusive and resilient leaders and teams, as well as thriving and sustainable workplace cultures.
Named on the Thinkers50 Radar list in 2021 and subsequently nominated for a Thinkers50 Distinguished Achievement Award, her practitioner articles regularly appear in Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan Management Review and IbyIMD, as well as various global media outlets. Her award-winning research surrounds identity and diversity, leadership, as well as mental health and wellbeing. This work has been published in the world's most influential peer reviewed management journals such as Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Human Relations, Journal of Management Studies, and Leadership Quarterly. She is Chair of the Scientific Advisory Council for One Mind at Work, and sits on the editorial board for the Academy of Management Review.
Alyson is the Program Director for IMD’s Future Leaders, Change Management, and Mastering Stress Programs. Known for her authenticity and energy, she has coached thousands of executives, teams, and organisations across a broad range of industries from mining and engineering through to professional services and technology. Some of her more recent clients include Lenovo, Julius Baer, CMS, Cisco, Maersk, Sandvik, Hilti, L'Oreal, Heineken, and the LEGO Group.
A global nomad, Alyson is originally from Canada, married to a German, and has lived and worked in North and South America, Asia, Europe and Australia. She is a mother of two daughters and is (unsuccessfully!) attempting to learn to DJ - a long lost (and now found) dream.
